Introducing Astral Magi, my love letter to classic synthesizer music of yore.
Inspired by NASA’s “golden record” age of exploration, this album delivers feelings of wonder, sparking a childlike curiosity for the natural world, and encouraging a triumph of the human spirit. It creates space for joy and experimentation in a challenging time of darkness, condensing the marvel of the universe into a 40-minute journey created with vintage analog synthesizers. This work is intended for all ages of adventurers, dreamers, mystics, and romantics. I seek to encourage the audience to immerse themselves in the vast expanse of their imaginations, where they are free to conjure the world they wish to create.
Initially conceived for the 2023 Chillits music festival, this body of work has grown to include a multichannel Dolby Atmos mix, a stereo vinyl LP, and a visual experience by my frequent collaborator, John Steinberg, all of which will debut in Oakland, CA on October 17, 2026.
For fans of Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, and other artists of the 1970s-1980s cinematic “kosmische musik” movement.
Purchase on Bandcamp includes multichannel Dolby Atmos mix.
